Kasekamp leads Paw Paw with second place finish

The members of the Paw Paw High School Boys and Girls Track Team headed to Keyser for the Class A Potomac Valley Conference Championships on Wednesday, May 3. Despite low numbers the Pirates track teams had two athletes earn All PVC honors for placing in the top six of their respective events.

On the boys side junior Hunter Kasekamp finished in second place in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:07. Kasekamp also placed sixth in the 3200 meters with a time of 12:14 to earn PVC honors in the two long distance running events. Kasekamp’s seven team points led Paw Paw to a seventh place finish in the team standings.

Over on the girls side junior Haven Irwin finished in sixth place in the 800 meters with a time of 3:03 to pick up her first track and field PVC honors.

The Paw Paw track team members will be back in action today, Wednesday, May 10 at Gilmer County for the Class A Regional Track & Field Championships.
