Paw Paw track results from Tri State Inv.

Members of the Paw Paw High School boys and girls track team traveled to Hancock, Md. for the Tri State Invitational last Wednesday, April 26. The Tri State Invitational featured Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

On the girls side the Lady Pirates finished in 12th place in the team standings. In the 1600 meters Amanda Benson finished in 12th place with a time of 8:12. In 800 meters Haven Irwin (17th place, 3:20) and Annie Stickely (18th place, 3:44). Liz Henderson was 20th in the shot with a throw of 18’10” and 12th in the discus with a throw of 57’9”. Henderson also finished in 14th place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:31.

On the boys side the Pirates finished in 12th place in the team standings with two points. Hunter Kasekamp’s seventh place finish in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:12 was the only points scored for Paw Paw. Also competing for the Pirates were Christian Braithwaite (10th place, shot put with a throw of 32’10” and 14th place, discus with a throw of 80’2”) and Jon Wolfe (21st place, shot put with a throw of 27’6” and 21st place, discus with a throw of 67’3”).

Paw Paw will be back in action with the PVC Class A Championships today, Wednesday, May 3 at Keyser High School starting at 5 p.m.
