Town business group reports progress on Hub Zone effort

by Trish Rudder

Bath Development Authority member Ron Martin said the contract agreement with HUB zone consultant Dave Ranck and the BDA has been signed and is moving forward for the development of business opportunities for the Town of Bath.

At the February 7 Bath council Meeting, Martin said Ranck is in the process of creating the flyer and will circulate it to existing and potential federal contractors as part of phase one of the agreement.

Ranck received $250 and will receive another $250 at the conclusion of the first phase.

Martin also said that county resident John Webster donated $250 through a money order to the Town of Bath to be used to fund additional work after the first phase is finished.

Martin said that Mary Hott of the W.Va. Small Business Development Center in Martinsburg gave a HUB presentation to the Berkeley Springs-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce recently regarding HUB Zone possibilities for the county.

Martin said the BDA is not committed to Ranck after the first phase is completed.
