Paw Paw off to a strong start on the hardwood

It’s been a low key season for the Paw Paw High School Pirates Varsity Boys Basketball Team despite fielding a near perfect record on the hardwood. The Pirates are currently 6-1 for the season with some impressive wins on their resume.

The Pirates started off their 2016-2017 season with a 79- 73 win at home over Union on December 9. On December 12 the Pirates defeated the Northern Garrett Huskies (MD) 54-29. On December 19 the Pirates rolled by Lighthouse Christian Academy 84-28. On December 22 Paw Paw continued to roll with a 74-37 win over Hancock, Md. The start of 2017 saw Paw Paw run their record to 5-0 with a win over Harman by the score of 62-57. Stats from these games were unavailable.

With a chance to go 6-0 on the season Paw Paw picked a 79-42 win over Hyndman Charter School out of Hyndman, Pa. last Wednesday, January 11. Landon Ridgeway led the Pirates with 38 points while hitting 15 shots from the field and going a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. While Christian Braithwaite turned in a double double with 10 points and 15 rebounds and Brent Mills had nine points and 11 rebounds.

This past Friday, January 13 the Pirates saw their undefeated season come to an end with a 62-51 loss at Union High School. Stats for the game were unavailable.
