Attention farmers

The West Virginia Department of Agriculture offers Nutrient Management Plans at no cost to farmers. A Nutrient Management Plan includes soil testing, spreader calibration, crop planning, and manure testing.

The benefits of the plan include increased crop yield, possible lower fertilizer costs, environmental stewardship, improved recordkeeping, and reduced nutrient loss. A Nutrient Management Plan is flexible and voluntary. It is not required (unless you are a CAFO) but it is recommended.

For more information, call the West Virginia Department of Agriculture at 304-538- 2397.
