Webster defeats Anderson in Bath town election

Long-time Town of Bath mayor Susan Webster held onto her municipal post after last Tuesday’s town election. Webster, who has been mayor since 1996, reined in 101 votes Only 24 residents backed her challenger, businessman John Anderson.

Incumbent council members all retained their seats for another two years, and will be joined by political newcomer

Of 549 registered voters inside the town limits, just 133 – or 24% — cast ballots in the June 11 election.

Town clerk Deb Peck said she and her poll workers had the election results tabulated by 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday night, just 45 minutes after voting closed at the Municipal Center.

Votes were canvassed and certified on Monday.
