5th annual Miss Morgan County to be crowned Sunday, April 6

The program will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Berkeley Springs High School Auditorium with doors opening at 2:00 p.m.


     Forty young ladies from kindergarten to 12th grade will be competing and vying for the title and scholarship money. Winners and runners-up in each division will be awarded cash scholarships totaling $1,500 to use for their future education. In addition, the Miss winner will receive a $500 scholarship to attend Shepherd University sponsored by the Shepherd University Foundation.


     The program opens up with dance numbers performed by each age division which is choreographed by Executive Director, Chelsea Hessler.

     New this year, the junior division contestants will be interviewed by the panel of judges prior to the start of the program similar to the miss division.The 2013 titleholders, Tiny Miss – Mia Hovermale, Little Miss – Madison Adams, Junior Miss – Aslyn Didawick, and Miss – Rachel Michaels, will entertain and crown the new titleholders.


     The Miss Morgan County Scholarship Program continues to support non-profit organizations in the county. Proceeds from this year’s program will be donated to the Morgan County Boys and Girls Club.


     Contestants help to raise money for the non-profit organization through sales of their good luck grams for the program book. The Miss Morgan County Scholarship Program also financially supports the Ann Moss Smith Community Service Scholarship awarded in May to any graduating senior from Berkeley Springs or Paw Paw High School (male or female) who gives of their time to community service.
