Sabrina Nicole “Bean” McCoy, age 54, of Hagerstown, Md., died on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at her home while under the care of Hospice of Washington County.

Born February 15, 1968 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Richard David “Dick” McCoy and the daughter of Sandra Lou Henry McCoy and her partner, Henry Clay McBee, Jr., both of Berkeley Springs.

She was a member of Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church.

Sabrina was a 1986 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Shepherd College and her Master’s Degree from Frostburg State University.

Sabrina worked for the Washington County School system, where she was dedicated to her job and students and served as vice principal at South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, Md. She had worked at North Hagerstown High School as vice principal and principal at Hancock Jr. & Sr. High School.

Sabrina was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #1311 in Berkeley Springs and Pocahontas Red Feather Council 59 in Williamsport, Md.

She enjoyed swimming and camping. Sabrina loved spending time with her family and friends, but especially taking her nephews to the beach.

In addition to her mother, Sabrina is survived by her siblings, Erica Richelle Hovermale and her husband, Jimmy, Darrin “DK” McCoy and his wife, Jenny, all of Berkeley Springs, her nephews, Darek Knyles McCoy, Joshua Keith McCoy and his wife, Kelsey, Cohen James Hovermale and his wife, Megan, Preston Garrett Hovermale and his wife, Brittney, Gavin Nicholas Hovermale and his companion, Harlee, and Holden Reese Hovermale, grand nieces, Jaydyn McCoy, Madisyn Sites, Khylee McCoy, grand nephews, Kaden McCoy, Weston Hovermale and Asher Hovermale, James Aleshire, whom she loved like a brother, her good friend and traveling companion Jamie Welsh and her goldendoodle Chelsea.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time. Pastor Ben Earle will be officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
