R. Lubrent “Lovey” Deneen

Lovey passed away on December 12, 2023 in Indialantic, Fla. He was 72.

Whether you knew him by Lubrent, Lovey or Lou, everyone knew him as a gentle giant with a heart of pure gold.

Born on a farm in Buck Valley, Pa., he moved to Berkeley Springs, W.Va., in 1984 when he fell in love with his wife, Tari Lynn Hampe-Deneen. They worked side-by-side in their restaurant business prior to selling in 2006. In 2017 they pulled up stakes and made Florida their permanent home.

He was a Harley Davidson and Chevy muscle car enthusiast. Many will remember him for fixing whatever was broken and always being ready to lend a hand.

He leaves behind his sisters, Satricia Woodall, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Trecila Ward (Randy) of Buck Valley, Pa., Donia Billings (Brett) of Point of Rocks, Md., and, half-brother Donald Berkstresser (Barb) of Needmore, Pa.; many nieces and nephews and a few trusted friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tari L. Hampe- Deneen; mother, Lena Belle Berkstresser; his father Lewis Deneen and his brother Alben Deneen.

He will be cremated and there will be no services.
