D. Clyde Somers

D. Clyde Somers

It is with a broken heart and sadness we need to inform you that D. Clyde Somers has exited the cancer roller coaster and is now on a cycle in heaven with the “Harley guys.”

Clyde, 66, was the youngest of 11 children born in Morgan County to the late Wilford Clyde and Virginia Cain Somers.

He attended schools in Morgan County and was raised in the holler with surviving siblings Carol Emerson, Jimmy, Dale (Aggie), Denny, Randy (Sandy), and Louie (Anna) Somers as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by Phyllis Fox, Morris “Bobby,” Joe and Gary Somers.

He is also survived by his immediate family, wife Dee Fournier, Larry Brice, Danny and Scout.

He was a jack of all trades and a master of 99%. He drove and was a mechanic for Big Rigs and a heavy equipment operator. He was a building contractor, well versed in grading and drainage, general construction, fine carpentry, plumbing and electrical. He enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical.

His faith and love of God was evident in his appreciation of nature, be it plants, wildlife, growing, hunting, clouds and sky, sun, moon, and stars.

He had a giant heart of gold and would give to anyone in need.

He was a man comfortable in his own skin, honest and said whatever was on his mind.

He will be missed by many. “

Cylepso – I release you from your bonds.” RIP my love.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Services and interment will be private.
