School board hires psychologist, other personnel for the school year

The Morgan County School Board approved the following professional and service personnel actions at their July 1  meeting. Personnel actions included approving resignations and retirements, hiring a school psychologist, teachers, aides and substitute teachers and  employing bus drivers and coaches.

Miranda Chaney was hired as county school psychologist starting July 1.

Andrew Harven was employed as Berkeley Springs High School health and physical education teacher beginning August 11.

Nicole Ackerman retired as Warm Springs Middle School consumer science teacher effective at the end of June 30.  She was employed as a substitute teacher beginning August 11.

Rebecca Smith was hired  as county itinerant pre-K/pre-school special needs teacher starting August 11.

Kiana Hess was employed as Pleasant View Elementary  fifth grade teacher beginning August 11.

Tamela Morrison was hired as a Widmyer Elementary multi-categorical special education teacher for students with autism starting August 11.

Samantha Vance resigned as Widmyer Elementary first grade teacher effective at the end of July 11.

Nicole Hiles and Michael Wilder were hired as substitute teachers beginning August 11.

Allen Miller resigned as substitute teacher effective at the end of May 30.

Carmen Winiarski resigned as a substitute teacher effective at the end of June 30.

Deborah E. Nash resigned as a substitute teacher effective at the end of June 15.

Service personnel

    Megan Lampson, bus driver for Bus 14-07, transferred to a position as School Bus Supervisor beginning July 1.

Lloyd Keenan, Warm Springs Middle School custodian III, transferred to a position as custodian IV/truck driver starting July 7.

Neil Stotler, Berkeley Springs High School custodian III transferred to a position as Warm Springs Intermediate School custodian III beginning July 16.

Unassigned bus driver Bradley Kidwell transferred to a position as bus driver for Bus 26-26 beginning August 11.

Stephanie Subetto was employed as an unassigned bus driver starting August 11.

Kelsey Barron, Pleasant View Elementary itinerant special education aide/autism mentor, transferred to a position as Widmyer Elementary teacher aide-early childhood classroom assistant teacher (ECCAT) beginning August 11.

Brittany Armel was hired as a Paw Paw Elementary kindergarten teacher aide-early childhood classroom assistant teacher starting August 11.

Amy Gray resigned as substitute secretary effective at the end of June 13.

John Marra was approved as a summer substitute bus driver.

Change of classification

The classification and pay grade of Kayla Souders, Warm Springs Intermediate School itinerant special education aide/autism mentor, were updated to include completion of Autism Mentor starting April 11.

Restructure

The school board approved restructuring the county custodian III/truck driver position to a county custodian IV/truck driver (240 days)

Extracurricular/extra duty

Holli McCumbee was hired as Berkeley Springs High School team leader for career technical education/physical education starting August 11.

Brittany Cockrell resigned as Warm Springs Middle School MC After 3 site coordinator effective at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

Brittany Cockrell also resigned as Warm Springs Middle School  yearbook sponsor effective at the end of June 30.

Coaches, athletics

    Chad Brinegar was employed as Berkeley Springs High School athletic director beginning July 2.

    Linwood Sealey was hired as Berkeley Springs High School assistant cross country coach beginning July 1.

Andrew Harven was employed as Berkeley Springs High School assistant football coach starting July 1.

Dale McCumbee resigned as head golf coach for Warm Springs Middle School effective at the end of May 28.

Karynn Kerns  resigned as Paw Paw Schools assistant volleyball coach effective at the end of June 30. Kerns was hired as a volunteer  Paw Paw Schools assistant volleyball coach starting July 2.

Jessica Close resigned as as Warm Springs Middle School assistant cheer coach effective at the end of June 30.

Charles Deal resigned as Warm Springs Middle School head girls’ basketball coach effective at the end of June 25.
