Shale was added to temporarily repair the drainage problem on North Mercer Street between Union and Independence streets.
The standing water had covered a deep pothole that had a five-gallon bucket with a concrete block in it to keep drivers away from the pothole that could damage their cars.
The pothole last week on Mercer Street, with a bucket in place to warn motorists.
