The Paw Paw High School Lady Pirates Volleyball Team hosted a pair of games last week at the friendly confines of the Paw Paw gym.
The Moorefield Yellow Jackets came to town on Monday, August 30 and swept the Lady Pirates by the scores of 25-8, 25-8 and 25-18. Leading for Paw Paw were Addison Ross having seven service points, four aces and a kill, Hannah Deschenes had five service points and a kill, Alexis Barker had four service points, ace, three blocks and a kill and Kelsey Hayes had four service points.
The Union Tigers from Grant County paid a visit the next day, Tuesday, August 21. In a thrilling five game match Paw Paw pulled off the 3-2 win by scores of 25-22, 13-25, 25-14, 20-25 and 15-13.
Hayes led Paw Paw with 21 service points and eight aces.
Also leading the Pirates were Karyann Kerns with 11 service points and an ace, Barker with 11 service points, three aces and five kills, Deschenes with 10 service points and an ace, Ross with nine service points, three aces and a kill, Kaydence Watson with five service points and an assist) and Miah Smith with five service points and three assists.
The Lady Pirates will return to action on Monday, September 13 when they travel to Pendleton County.
