Berkeley Springs State Park comes alive for The Flashbacks

by Lisa Schauer

If Berkeley Springs State Park had a house, The Flashbacks would have brought it down during a live concert on Saturday, August 29.

Impromptu line dancers, shaggers, air guitarists, and free spirits filled the sidewalk to dance.

A large and enthusiastic crowd sat in stadium chairs on the green, swaying to the familiar beats.

The Flashbacks flawlessly performed one long set, mixing popular rock-n-roll hits from the ‘50s to the ‘80s.

Songbird Angela Petry electrified the crowd on vocals and keyboard, backed up by Bob Wurster on vocals and guitar, guitarists Greg Elwood and Jeff Cooperman, and Mike Marzulo on drums and vocals.

The free community concert is held annually at the end of summer to benefit Berkeley Springs State Park Foundation, which contributes improvements to the state park in addition to state funded projects.
