Warm Springs Wolves ready to “run with the pack” this fall

by Haley Diehl

The Warm Springs Wolves Youth Football and Cheer program is ready to bring football back to Morgan Field, and we’re welcoming the entire community to come out, fill the bleachers and support the next generation of Indians.

The Wolves recently took the field for an August 7 scrimmage against the Hedgesville Eagles, and our athletes showed up ready to compete. From the first whistle, there was no shortage of energy, effort, teamwork and grit. After weeks of summer practices, our football players and cheerleaders finally had the opportunity to show what they’ve been working toward.

Now, we’re ready to carry that momentum into the 2026 season, including three opportunities for our community to catch the Wolves at home.

Waylon Williams (#27) on the carry after receiving the handoff from Sawyer Smith (#70).

On Saturday, August 22 at 9 a.m., the Warm Springs Wolves vs. Hedgesville Eagles.

Sunday, September 13 at 11 a.m., the Warm Springs Wolves will play Venom.

This will also be a special day for our program as we recognize our eighth grade athletes and celebrate the years they have dedicated to Wolves football and cheer.

On Saturday, October 3 at 2:30 p.m., the Warm Springs Wolves host the Fayetteville Browns and Winchester Jets

Youth sports are about much more than what happens on the scoreboard. They teach our kids discipline, accountability, teamwork, resilience and what it means to represent their community. Every practice, every game and every season helps build athletes who will one day carry those lessons — and that Wolves pride — to the next level. The future of football starts long before Friday nights under the lights. It starts right here, with young athletes learning the game together, discovering each other’s strengths, overcoming challenges and learning how to move as one team. But a strong youth program also needs a strong community behind it.
