15 indicted by Morgan County Grand Jury in April term

Members of Morgan County’s Grand Jury handed down felony indictments against 15 individuals when they met for their April term in the Morgan County Circuit Court last Tuesday, April 7.

The individuals will be arraigned, at which time they will enter an answer to the charges and future hearings will be set in each case.

Those indicted were:

Brittany N. Clark, 40, of Hancock was indicted and a warrant issued for her. Clark is accused of three counts of fraud in connection with an access device (credit card or debit card). Berkeley Springs Officer Stangle investigated the case.

Cheyenne D. Cowles, 28, of Easton, Md. was indicted for DUI, third offense and driving under the influence or alcohol causing bodily injury (two counts). West Virginia State Police Trooper Short investigated the case.

Sherri E. Davis, 35, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver the drug, conspiracy to deliver fentanyl, possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver the drug and conspiracy to deliver cocaine. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Barker investigated the case.

John W. Greenfield, Jr., 56, of Martinsburg was indicted for domestic battery, third offense; strangulation and destruction of property. West Virginia State Police Trooper Warnick investigated the case.

Tyler W. Griffith, 22, of Great Cacapon was indicted for soliciting a minor via a computer to engage in prohibited sexual activity and use of obscene matter with the intent to seduce a minor. West Virginia State Police Trooper Meyer investigated the case.

James Householder II, 48, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for grand larceny and transferring stolen property. West Virginia State Police Trooper Warnick investigated the case.

Dominique J. Johnson, 28, of Washington, D.C. was indicted for breaking and entering, destruction of property, grand larceny and conspiracy. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Butts investigated the case.

Gary W. Mellott, 73, of Great Cacapon was indicted for failure to update his sex offender registry, second offense. West Virginia State Trooper Sgt. Smith investigated the case.

Vernon W. Paden Jr., 43, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver the drug, conspiracy to deliver fentanyl, possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver the drug. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Barker investigated the case.

Myah M.P. Parker, 26, of Washington, D.C. was indicted for breaking and entering, destruction of property, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit the crimes. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Butts investigated the case.

Franklin A. Shields, 45, of Baltimore was indicted for breaking and entering and grand larceny. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies Barker and Shambaugh investigated the case.

Colleen F. Stender, 41, of Hedgesville was indicted for possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, possession of oxycodone with the intent to deliver the drug, possession of Ritalin with the intent to deliver the drug, possession of Psilocyn with the intent to deliver the drug, possession of LSD with the intent to deliver the drug, possession of MDMA with the intent to deliver the drug and cultivation of marijuana. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Roper investigated the case.

Robert A. Tapscott Jr., 48, of Walkersville, Md. was indicted for obtaining property by false pretenses. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Shambaugh investigated the case.

Brian C. Vangosen, 35, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy Knotts investigated the case.

Vonnie Burkhart, 60, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for prohibited violations of an individual’s civil rights, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, aggravated and destruction of property. West Virginia State Trooper Styles investigated the case.
