Berkeley Springs High School senior Brian Ailor secured a spot in the State Math Field Day by earning a Top 10 finish at the Region 8 Math Field Day, held on Wednesday, March 18, at Potomac State College in Keyser. Twenty-eight Morgan County students took part in the competition after qualifying at their respective schools.
Morgan County recognized their top finishers. In the Grade 8 competition, Bowen Chen (Warm Springs Middle School) placed second alternate. In the Grades 10–12 competition, Braden Brinegar (Berkeley Springs High School) placed fourth alternate, Camden Spade (Berkeley Springs High School) placed second alternate, and Brian Ailor (Berkeley Springs High School) earned tenth place.
By finishing in the top ten in the Grades 10–12 division, Ailor qualified for State Math Field Day, which will be held at West Virginia Wesleyan on April 18. Additionally, the county alternates may have the opportunity to participate should a position become available for them to attend.
