Town of Bath approves draft FY 2027 budget

by Lisa Schauer

The Bath Town Council has unanimously passed a resolution to send Bath’s proposed $1.37 million budget for fiscal year 2027 to the State Auditor’s Office for final approval.

In a public meeting on Tuesday, March 17, Town Recorder Susan Webster said the council was ahead of the state’s deadline of March 28 to send in the proposed financial plan.

The state’s tax office has budgets from 232 municipalities and 55 counties to review, Webster noted.

Mayor Greg Schene said the town’s budget, which covers the period from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, will be released to the public upon approval by the State Auditor.

The Morgan Messenger published the proposed Town of Bath budget in this week’s edition. State law requires the budget and tax rates be published as a legal notice.
