During recent meetings of the Morgan County Board of Education, school board members approved the hire, transfer, resignations and reclassification of professional and service personnel.
Amy Houseknecht was hired as a substitute teacher for the county and Lisasnne Brown as a Title I Reading Specialist for Paw Paw Elementary School.
Serenity McGowan was hired as the Clinical Teacher of Record for Warm Springs Intermediate School.
School officials accepted the resignation of Wesley Eddy, Weight Room Coach at Berkeley Springs High School and Carter Baxter, Assistant Softball Coach for Berkeley Springs High School.
Board members approved the hire of Glen Swanson, restricted substitute teacher for the county and the transfer of Joan Smith from the position of the county’s Technology Systems Specialist to the position of Morgan County Schools Director of Technology, effective March 2.
Rebecca Miller was hired as a county substitute teacher and Patricia Place was hired as a Long-Term Substitute and Multi-Categorical Special Education Teacher for Berkeley Springs High School.
Rebecca McGahuey was hired as a long-term substitute cook for Warm Springs Middle School and Emma Boyer as a long-term substitute teachers aide for Warm Springs Intermediate School.
Board members approved the employment of Laura Houle, Abigail Clegg, Denise Beddow. Mary Vanorsdale and Catherine Deli as subsctitie cooks, aides, clerks and secretaries, effective March 18 contignent on meeting employement requisites.
Haylee Rusnak was hired as a long-term substitute half-time cook for Pleasant View Elementary.
Megan Lampson’s position was restructured from bus supervisor, transportation to the same position with 15 additional days per year.
In late January, Shawn Diehl was hired as the Interim Head Wrestling Coach for Berkeley Springs High School for the remainder of the season after the resignation of Derek Hovermale from several position at the school, including athletic games supervisor and head wrestling coach.
School officials hired Steve Hawvermale as Assistant Tennis Coach for Berkeley Springs High School.
Athletic resignations included the resignation of Ryan Fincham as Head Volleyball Coach at Berkeley Springs High School and Jamie McCoy as Assistant Baseball Coach.
School officials approved the following individuals as volunteer coaches at Berkeley Springs High School:
–Andrew Harven and Jamie McCoy as volunteer baseball coaches,
–Susan Youngblood, Dave Mundey, Dave Aberegg, Aaron Close, Ian Helmick as Track & Field coaches
— Ryan Fincham as tennis coach.
School board members also approved compensation for staff for additional training, afterschool and extra duties.
