Students at Wind Dance Farm & Earth Education Center in Morgan County recently designed an art project to help educate the community about climate change.
The project’s focal point is a three-foot circular canvas with a painting of the Earth at the center.
Radiating outwards from Earth, viewers can see illustrations of the causes, effects, and solutions of climate change.
To support their educational outreach, students designed a booklet that explains each section of the art work. The canvas and booklets will be on display at the Ice House during Youth Art Month in March and then will be displayed at various locations around Morgan County.

Wind Dance students participate in a climate action program through the Youth Climate Institute, whose mission is to: “educate and certify the next generation of leaders on climate science, environmental justice, and real-world solutions.”
Funding for the booklet was provided by the Youth Climate Institute, in association with singer, songwriter Billie Eilish’s Changemaker initiative.
Additional funds were received from the local community. Gary Stewart, publisher of Cold Run Books, edited the booklet, and Todd Buzzerd of The Morgan Messenger handled the printing.
