The Berkeley Springs Lady Indians basketball team faced a challenging week on their home court, falling in back‑to‑back matchups against regional opponents Moorefield and Frankfort.
On January 13, Berkeley Springs welcomed the Moorefield Yellow Jackets, but the Lady Indians were unable to climb out of repeated double‑digit deficits throughout the night. Moorefield controlled the pace and maintained its lead from start to finish, ultimately earning a 62–42 victory.
No individual or team statistics were available for Berkeley Springs at the time of publication.
Two nights later, on January 15, the Lady Indians hosted longtime rival Frankfort in a hard‑fought contest that saw several momentum swings.
Frankfort struck first, jumping out to an 11–2 lead in the opening minutes. Berkeley Springs responded with energy and execution, closing the first quarter on a commanding 14–4 run to take a 16–15 lead.
The Falcons regained control in the second quarter, using a 14–8 stretch to move back in front 29–24 at the half. In the third quarter Frankfort continued to apply pressure, edging Berkeley Springs 10–8 to extend its advantage to 39–32.
Despite the Lady Indians’ efforts to rally late, Frankfort held strong in the final period and sealed a 52–38 victory.

Maddie Close powered the offense with 19 points and 5 rebounds.

Katie Risinger delivered a strong double‑double, posting 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Ava Michael added 2 points, while Alexis Baker contributed 2 points and 6 rebounds.
Avery Dhayer provided support with 2 rebounds and 2 assists, and Payton Mizzell collected 3 rebounds.
Berkeley Springs (7–4) will look to rebound as they continue their homestand on Thursday, January 22 at 7 p.m., when they take on the visiting Hampshire Trojans.
