The Berkeley Springs Lady Indians wrestling team hit the road Friday, January 9, traveling to St. Mary’s High School to compete in the annual Pen Mar Lady Blue Devils Invitational.
Against a competitive field of programs from across the region, the Lady Indians once again proved they are a growing force on the mat.

Junior Willow Rhoten continued her standout season in dominant fashion, capturing first place in the 138-pound weight class. Rhoten showcased technical command throughout the tournament, controlling the pace of every match and sealing the championship with confidence. Her victory adds another highlight to an already impressive year as she positions herself among the top contenders statewide.

In the upper weights, Natalie Koontz delivered a strong performance, battling through a tough bracket to earn third place in the 235-pound weight class. Koontz demonstrated grit and consistency, securing key points and rebounds after early-round challenges to finish on the podium.
Freshman Bella Zombro also represented Berkeley Springs in the tournament, gaining valuable varsity experience in her debut season.
The Lady Indians will return to action this week as they head to the Jefferson Lady Cougars Invitational on Saturday, January 17 held at Jefferson High School.
