Bridge traffic to change on Winchester Grade Rd. during construction

Pallet Factory bridge

The West Virginia Division of Highways has said they will close the one-lane bridge known as the Pallet Factory Bridge on Winchester Grade Road (Route 13) on Wednesday, January 7 to begin construction of a new bridge.

Signs will direct motorists during the project.

The old bridge will remain closed and traffic will move to a one-lane temporary bridge over Sleepy Creek at that site for the duration of the construction process. The DOH says the estimated completion date of the new two-lane bridge along Winchester Grade Road is August of 2027.

The West Virginia Division of Highways (DOH) says that C. William Hetzer Inc. was awarded a contract for $2.54 million in April 2025 to replace the existing one-lane bridge.
