State offices will be closed Wednesday and Thursday

West Virginia state government employees will be given off Christmas Eve, following a proclamation by Governor Patrick Morrisey. The executive announcement gives state employees an “extended Christmas holiday,” the governor’s office said on Friday.

That means state offices won’t be open on Wednesday, December 24, including DMVs and Department of Human Services offices.

The Morgan County Courthouse is scheduled to close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24. At press time, the county hadn’t announced if it would match the governor’s proclamation, or keep county offices open for the morning. The courthouse is closed on Thursday, December 25 for Christmas.
