Jeromy Duelley introduced Capt. Place as the school system’s new PRO officer at the December 2 meeting of the Board of Education, which included a large attendance of students and families for a semi-annual student award ceremony.
Capt. Place said he looks forward to continuing to build community partnerships as he steps into the role.
PRO officers play both an educational and law enforcement role in public schools, teaching classes on varied topics related to safety and positive choices while also advising school officials and providing safety expertise.
Capt. Place previously taught DARE classes, a drug use prevention and anti-violence program, for many years in Morgan County Schools.
