Work is underway once again on a project to replace the Pallet Factory Bridge over Sleepy Creek along Winchester Grade Road (Route 13). A temporary bridge has been placed over the creek to eventually carry traffic while a two-lane bridge is built in place of the existing concrete bridge.
The West Virginia Division of Highways (DOH) says that C. William Hetzer Inc. was awarded a contract for $2.54 million in April to replace the existing one-lane bridge.
The DOH has not responded to a request for a timeline on the bridge work.
