About 100 people gratefully participated in a community Thanksgiving dinner prepared and served by members of Berkeley Springs Lions Club on Saturday, November 22 at the Moose lodge.
It was the second annual gathering, inspired by Hancock Lions Club’s longstanding community dinner held annually on the second Saturday in December.
A hot buffet included carved turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and succotash, along with buttered rolls and a dessert table.

The Moose lodge was all decorated for Christmas, creating a friendly and festive atmosphere for the community dinner.
National Honor Society students from Berkeley Springs High School served beverages and cleared trays.

Advisor Suzanne Burhoe said National Honor Society members are also participating in a Toys for Tots drive, in partnership with the Lions Club.
Toys for Tots donation drive
Anyone who would like to donate a new, unwrapped Christmas gift can drop it off at Berkeley Springs High School, or at other Toys for Tots box locations including CNB Bank, Charlotte’s Café, Dawson’s Hardware, Edward Jones, Truist bank, and Mountain State Chiropractic, which also collects coats for kids.
Toys for Tots donations will be collected until December 22, according to Kim Mason with Berkeley Springs Lions Club.
Items will be distributed by Starting Points for families who registered for the Holiday Helpers program.
