The Berkeley Springs Indians golf team hit the road for a pair of invitationals this past week, testing their skills against strong fields on two challenging courses.
On Tuesday, September 9, the Indians traveled to Valley View for the Moorefield Invitational, where they placed ninth overall. Leading the way was Cayden Swink, who shot an 88. He was followed by Owen Gray (91), Jackson Davison (94), Lu Henry (100) and Camden Barney (101). Despite the tough competition, the team put together a steady showing across the board.
Just a day later, the team was back in action at the Washington Invitational at Locust Hill on Wednesday, September 10. Facing a loaded field, the Indians rose to the challenge, finishing fourth overall with a team score of 355. Swink once again paced Berkeley Springs, tying with Malcolm Johns, as both golfers carded strong rounds of 86. Owen Gray turned in another solid score with an 88, while Jackson Davison added a 95, Lu Henry shot a 98 and Camden Barney rounded out the effort with a 108.
With consistency and depth developing across the roster, the Indians continue to build momentum as the season moves forward.
