School board hires long-term substitute teachers

The Morgan County School Board approved a number of hired a number of professional personnel actions at their July 15 meeting including the hiring of a number of long-term substitute teachers.

Jessica Miller was employed as a Widmyer Elementary long-term substitute second grade teacher beginning August 11 for the school year 2025-2026 or until a fully certified candidate is hired.

Kathleen Kaiser was hired as a long-term substitute Berkeley Springs High School teacher multi-categorical special education teacher for students with autism starting August 11 or until a fully certified candidate is hired.

Heather Roling was hired as a long-term Widmyer Elementary first grade substitute teacher for the 2025-2026 school year starting August 11 or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Zack Harold was hired as a long-term substitute health/physical education education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year starting August 11 or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

McKayla Kesecker was employed as a long-term substitute Warm Springs Middle School seventh grade math teacher  for the 2025-2026 school year beginning August 11 or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Amy Litten was hired as a long-term substitute Widmyer Elementary Pre-K teacher starting August 11 for the 2025-2026 school year  or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Timothy Smailes was employed as a long-term half-time credit recovery teacher teacher starting August 11 for the 2025-2026 school year   until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Charles Wachter was employed as long-term substitute Warm Springs Middle School In School Suspension Teacher beginning August 11     for the 2025-2026 school year   or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Rebecca Unger was hired  as a long-term substitute Widmyer Elementary  first grade teacher starting August 11 for the school year 2025-2026 or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Diana Hiles was hired as a long-term substitute multi-categorical special education teacher at Berkeley Springs High School starting August 11 for the 2025-2026 school year until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Brandon Johnson and Gary Wachter were hired as long-term substitute math teachers for grades 9-12 at Berkeley Springs High School for the 2025-2026 school year or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Contract change

The following individuals had their probationary contracts to continuing contracts for the 2025–2026 school year: Sherrie Byrd, Morgan Golden, Shawn Prinkey, Lora Hetrick, Kimberly Khuen, Joshua Morrell and Amber L. Stotler.

 Position restructured

The 210-day Agriculture Education Teacher at Warm Springs Middle School was restructured to an Agriculture Education Teacher 230 days at  Warm Springs Middle School.

Service Personnel

Kelly Bohrer, Widmyer Elementary teacher aide/ECCAT, transferred to a position as intinerant special education aide/autism aide at Pleasant View Elementary.

Contracts for the following individuals were changed from probationary contracts to continuing contracts for the school year 2025-2026: Melissa Waugh, Timothy Devlin, Samantha Pearce, Rhiannon Breeden, Vanessa Brown, Amanda Henry, Jessica Hook, Heather Kesner, Amy Laing, Megan Lampson, Stephen McDoniel, Keri Puffenberger,    Sharon Roach, Alyson Whipple, Mary Young, Mark Bennett and Kerry Kendo.

Dennis Crolley was hired as a  half-time Paw Paw Schools long-term substitute art teacher and a half-time long-term substitute music teacher/band director  for grades 4-12 beginning August 11 for the 2025–2026 school year or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Kendra Castro was employed as a long-term substitute kindergarten teacher at Paw Paw Elementary beginning August 11 for the 2025–2026 school year or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Suzanne Burhoe was hired as a long-term substitute  Berkeley Springs High School multi-categorical special education teacher for students with autism  starting August 11 for the 2025–2026 school year or until a fully certified candidate is employed.

Service personnel

Dawn Day, Widmyer Elementary teacher/ECCAT (early childhood classroom assistant teacher), transferred to a position as Berkeley Springs High School secretary II starting July 21.

Brian Francis was employed as Berkeley Springs High School (240 days) custodian III 6:00 am-2:00 pm beginning July 16.

Eric Swink and Caleb Smalley were hired as substitute bus drivers beginning August 11.

Coaches

Charles Wachter was employed as Warm Springs Middle School head golf coach starting July 16.

Summer employment

Professional  personnel

Cheryl  Robert, Alyssa Bender and Wes Eddy were employed as county MC After 3 summer camp teachers from July 18-August 1, as needed.

Service personnel

John Marra and Raymond Steiner were hired as MC After 3summer bus drivers from July 21-August 1 as needed.

Mandy Bland was employed as half-time MC After 3 summer camp cook II from July 21 to August 1 as needed.
