Town council votes to continue Bath Streetscape project

by Lisa Schauer

On Wednesday July 15, Bath town council members approved funding agreements as part of an application for grants to continue construction of new and replacement sidewalks, curbs and lighting in various locations in Bath.

Funding agreements are required by the West Virginia Division of Highways to apply for Transportation Alternatives and Recreational Trails (TAP) grant money.

In 2022, the town received $496,246 in a TAP grant for Phase Four of the Bath Streetscape project. The 2025 grant application is for phases Six and Seven.

For fiscal year 2025, all TAP projects will be 80% federal funds and 20% local funds, according to the DOH website.
