The Morgan County School Board approved the following actions at their regularly scheduled Tuesday, July 1 meeting.
Assistant Superintendent Jeromy Duelley presented the Morgan County Roof Improvement 2025-2026. He noted that Morgan County Schools had been awarded funding for the project and will be replaced during the 2025-2026 school year,
Middle school
Warm Springs Middle School will use local funds to patch priority areas. They will submit as SBA Needs project in the fall of 2025. If not awarded priority area have been patched, they will resubmit in Spring 2026, Duelley said.
Intermediate school
Warm Springs Intermediate School will use local funds to patch priority areas. It will be submitted as a SBA Needs Project in the fall of 2025 or Fall of 2026.
Organizations
School board president Aaron Close moved designating two Board of Education members for each of the following advisory school committees for the 2025-206 school year: buildings and grounds, athletics, curriculum and instruction and strategic planning,
Bus purchase, bus routes
The school board approved the purchase of one gasoline 2026 Air Conditioner Blue Bird 77 passenger school bus for $145,420 from Blue Bird Bus Sales. The funding source is the Step 4 State Bus Replacement.
The board also approved the school bus routes for the 2025-2026 school year. The routes will be published in the Morgan Messenger
Other finance/budget
The school board approved the Hope Scholarship tuition fee of $642 per class. They also approved a Hope Scholarship athletic participation fee of $50 per sport. An out of state tuition fee was also approved.
The board approved pay application one in the amount of $121,695 for the Morgan County Schools School Building Authority (SBA) HVAC replacement project for Berkeley Springs High School as approved by Williamson Shriver Architect. Inc.
The board approved pay application 13-A in the amount of $2,267 for the Morgan County Schools School Building Authority (SBA) HVAC replacement project for Berkeley Springs High School as approved by Williamson Shriver Architect. Inc.
Bids
The bid for the financial audit of Fiscal Years 2025-2027 was awarded to the Fyffe Group.
The food service bid for the 2025-2026 school year nutrition program was awarded to HPS LLC/Gordon’s Food Service.
Policies
The school board waived the first readings of several policies that were 2271 Dual Credit, 5630.01 Use of Restraint and Seclusion with Students and 5722 School sponsored student media.
The board approved two-hour early dismissals for October 10 and December 19, 2025; February 13, April 3 and May 29, 2026.
The school board approved revising Policy 3120.12 substitutes in areas of critical need and shortage to reflect changes of consistency for school year 2025-2026.
