Morgan County Schools has named Scott Lykins as the new principal of Warm Springs Intermediate School in Berkeley Springs, which serves students in grades three through five.

Former Principal Rebecca Huber is transitioning to a new position at the central office as Director of Student Support Services.
Lykins was a co-winner of the Mary Linn Fox First Year Teacher Award. He received the award jointly with Paw Paw Elementary kindergarten Laura Umstot.
Lykins has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He also holds a master’s degree in elementary education with a focus in science and character education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Originally from New Castle, Pennsylvania, Lykins moved here from Erie. He originally went to school for a degree in secondary education, but switched to elementary education.
A post on the Morgan County Schools website said that Lykins “brings with him a wealth of experience in curriculum and instruction as well as a strong background in social-emotional learning. His previous experience as a teacher in Morgan County and current experience as a assistant principal have prepared him for this extremely important role. His leadership is grounded in a student-centered approach.”
