Hedgesville woman arrested on marijuana drug charges

On Sunday July 6, police observed a black Subaru with no inspection sticker traveling south on Valley Road, and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver was identified as Colleen F. Stender, 40, of Hedgesville.

The odor of marijuana was emanating from her vehicle, according to a criminal complaint filed in Morgan County Magistrate Court by Corporal Christopher Roper with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.

Corporal Roper removed Stender from the vehicle and conducted a search. According to his complaint, the officer located 17 jars of marijuana, seven plastic bags containing marijuana, 37 THC vapes, a large amount of plastic baggies, $344 in cash, and a ledger appearing to track money and sales, according to the criminal complaint.

Stender was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute. She is incarcerated at Eastern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond while she awaits a hearing.
