William R. “Bill” “Buck” Omps
1941-2025
William “Bill” “Buck” R. Omps, 84 of Cross Junction, Va., died Friday, June 27, 2025 at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on January 25, 1941 in Whitacre, Va., the son of the late Dayton Omps and Icy (Puffinberger) Omps.
Bill was a machine operator at Abex Corporation in Winchester, Va.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and going to Florida in the wintertime.
Surviving are three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by one son, Terry W. Omps; two daughters, Annette Fowler and Patty Jo Haines; three brothers, Pete Omps, Donnie Omps and Jerry Puffinberger; and five sisters, Bessie Bauer, Minnie Crouse, Martha Holliday, Marie Grimes and Lola Dewease.
Services will be privately held.
Arrangements are by Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory, Capon Bridge, WV.
