Driver jailed after three prior DUI convictions

Krystal A. Smith, 40, of Berkeley Springs was arrested on Saturday, June 21 at about 7:30 p.m., and charged with driving revoked for DUI, third offense.

Police stopped Smith as she drove a silver Dodge Dakota through the intersection of Householder Road and Cherry Run Road, appearing not to notice a stop sign, according to a criminal complaint filed in Morgan County Magistrate Court by Senior Trooper B.A. Meyers with the West Virginia State Police.

Smith failed a field sobriety test, according to the criminal complaint.

She has three prior convictions for DUI, going back to 2010, and another charge pending for driving revoked.

Smith was released from jail on a $3,000 bond while she awaits a hearing.
