Columbia says new gas line here is in service

In a required filing to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Columbia Gas has reported that the new Eastern Panhandle Expansion Project natural gas line between Fulton County, Pa. and Berkeley Springs, W.Va. has been put in service.

According to project documents, Columbia put the gas line in service on June 26.

FERC granted the company’s request to put the line in service on June 20.

The 3.8-mile line brings Columbia Gas to the Mountain Gas line that was placed in Morgan County several years ago to feed the Eastern Panhandle.

Mountaineer Gas said the new line will provide greater supply for Berkeley and Jefferson counties, and they made add local natural gas service in Morgan County as demand appears.
