The Morgan County Commissioners approved a proclamation last week recognizing May 9 as Childcare Provider Day, just ahead of the Mother’s Day weekend.
Kathrina Hagedorn, Case Manager for MountainHeart Community Services, explained that her agency helps establish childcare businesses and provides education and training to childcare professionals, while also helping parents and grandparents get childcare assistance so they can go to work or school or gain training.
“Studies show that the type of care you receive at the youngest ages can set the path for the type of life we have,” Hagedorn said.
MountainHeart expresses deep gratitude for those who nurture young children. Providers play a significant role in a child’s early development.
