Vada Lee Shipe, age 79, of Hedgesville, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Berkeley Springs Health Center, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Friday, February 1, 1946, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Ethel Jerome Clingerman.
Vada attended Hancock Schools and was raised on the orchards in Hancock.
She enjoyed gardening, baking pies and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Fiddler and husband Larry of Winchester, Va., Patricia Snow of Hagerstown, Md., and Lori Cross and husband Bobby of Needmore, Pa.; one son, Daniel Carbaugh of Chambersburg, Pa.; three grandsons and one granddaughter. She is also survived by her companion of thirty-four years Kenny Burns.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield Shipe who served in the U.S. Navy for twenty-three years; her first husband, Daniel Carbaugh; five sisters, two brothers and one grandson, Ricky Snow.
Viewing was held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750. Services were held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 12 p.m. with one hour visitation prior, all at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Hawbaker officiated. Burial followed at Union Cemetery, 17591 Great Cove Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233.
Arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, Hancock, MD.
