Indians swing strong: Tribe rolls past Musselman, battles tough at Hedgesville

The Berkeley Springs High School tennis teams are hit- ting their stride as the Regional tournament looms closer, with a dominant victory over Musselman and a tough battle at Hedgesville this week.

Tuesday, April 22 Indians battle at Hedgesville

The Tribe traveled to Hedgesville on Tuesday for a tough matchup against the Eagles. While the boys’ team picked up only one win, they showed resilience on the road. The #3 Doubles Team of Kyle and Andrew Bland earned the lone victory for the boys, battling their way to an 8-5 win.

On the girls’ side, the Lady Indians dominated.

The #1 Doubles Duo of Emilee Fleece and Chloe Jackson claimed an 8-2 victory, and Fleece followed up with an impressive 9-7 win in #1 Singles, securing the Lady Indians’ victories.

Monday, April 21

Indians dominate Musselman at home

Just one day earlier, the Tribe took full advantage of their home court at W arm Springs Tennis Courts, delivering a powerful 6-1 victory over the Musselman Applemen.

The boys’ team led the charge with standout performances:

#1 Doubles Braden Brinegar and Brody Beal triumphed 8-4.

#2 Doubles Connor Havermale and Landon Litten won by an 8-0 forfeit.

#3 Doubles Kyle and Andrew Bland also grabbed an 8-0 forfeit victory.

In singles, the Tribe kept rolling:

#1 Singles Braden Brinegar edged his opponent 9-7.

#3 Singles Landon Litten triumphed in an 8-6 tiebreaker.

#4 Singles Brody Beal secured an 8-0 forfeit win.

Connor Havermale fought hard at #2 Singles, going into a tiebreaker, but ultimately fell just short.

The Lady Indians’ matches were postponed and were set for Monday, April 28.

With two solid performances under their belts, the Indians are ramping up for their biggest challenges yet as the Regional tournament draws near.
