The Berkeley Springs Lady Indians had a dynamic week on the diamond, showcasing their prowess with a mix of impressive victories and tough battles against formidable opponents.
The week kicked off with a commanding season opener against Martinsburg, where the Lady Indians dominated from the start. Led by a strong offensive showing, Berkeley Springs secured a decisive 14-5 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
Scotlyn Forney, Payton Mizell and Layla Parsell each contributed multiple hits, while Alaira Harrington’s stellar pitching performance anchored the team’s success.
Friday, March 21, brought the annual Battle of the Potomac River as the Lady Indians hosted the Hancock Panthers. In a spirited matchup, Berkeley Springs emerged victorious with an 8-4 win.

Molly Boyles led the charge with a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including two powerful hits to the outfield fence. Kamryn Buck, Scotlyn Forney, Alaira Harrington and Layla Parsell also delivered standout performances, each recording three hits apiece. Alaira Harrington continued her impressive week on the mound, securing her second win while striking out eight over seven innings.

The weekend, however, posed a tough challenge as the Lady Indians faced off against Class A powerhouse Petersburg in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22.
Despite their best efforts, Berkeley Springs fell short against the Lady Vikings, with scores of 17-1 and 13-0 in favor of Petersburg. Isabella Albanese, Payton Mizell and Hailey Adkins contributed hits in the first game, while Mizell, Scotlyn Forney and Molly Boyles added hits in the second game.
Looking ahead, the Lady Indians (2-2) are gearing up for their upcoming matchups: Tuesday, March 25 they faced Clarke County, 5 p.m.; Thursday, March 27 at Hedgesville, 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 29 at Grafton, 12 p.m. and at Fairmont Senior, 4 p.m. for a doubleheader
The Berkeley Springs Lady Indians continue to show resilience and determination as they navigate through their season, poised to tackle upcoming challenges with renewed vigor.
