Leora Weber Orebaugh

1924-2025

Leora Weber Orebaugh died on February 16, 2025, at home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Leora was born on March 29, 1924, in Morgan County, W.Va. to Ercel (Doc) Weber and Ora Potter Weber.

Leora was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and then worked for the U.S. Government until her marriage in June 1949. She then became a housewife and raised two daughters, actively supporting them in school events.

Leora was a vital member of the Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church and a member of the Junior Women’s Club.

Leora is survived by her husband, Andrew Edward Orebaugh, her daughters Andra Lee Orebaugh and Elizabeth Lindsay McKillican, grandson Andrew Sandlin McKillican and his wife Kaleigh Susan and two children Isla Lindsay and Owen Andrew, nieces Jody Clark Hursh and Susan Shockey Kesecker, and a nephew John Clark.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ercel Sterling Weber and her two sisters, Anna Mae Clark and Opal Elwonda Shockey.

Funeral services will be conducted at Noon on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Pastor Chuck Bergen will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Leora’s memory may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
