Keyser ends Berkeley Springs run of PVC Wrestling Championships

Jacob Morgan & Krystian Norris capture PVC Titles

This past Saturday, January 25, at Frankfort High School there was a changing of the guard in the Potomac Valley Conference Wrestling Championships.

The Keyser Golden Tornado upended the Berkeley Springs five year run as team champions with a dominant performance in the 2025 PVC Wrestling Tournament.

The Golden Tornadoes sent nine wrestlers to the championship finals and had eight PVC champions.

Berkeley Springs sent eight wrestlers to the championship finals, however only two Indians were able to capture individual championships. Junior Jacob Morgan (132) and senior Krystian Norris (190) worked their way through their brackets to lay claim to the PVC titles. Morgan pinned Peyton Brittingham (Frankfort) and Norris won 14-6 major decision over Earl Wyman (Moorefield).

Also reaching the finals but coming up short in their quest for a PVC title was junior Eligah Parsell (113), freshman Vaughn Taylor (120), senior Daniel Clark (126), freshman Kowen Proctor (138), freshman Kaiden Proctor (150) and senior Kollin Sullivan.

Parsell lost 17-2 tech fall to Kaydan Durr (Keyser), Taylor lost 14-12 to Javier Acosta (Moorefield), Clark lost 5-0 to Jackson Swingle (Keyser), Kowen Proctor lost 12-4 major decision to Lane Metcalf (Keyser), Kaiden Proctor lost by fall to Tanner Dietrick (Keyser) and Sullivan lost 3-2 (Overtime) to Owen Rotruck (Keyser).

Finishing third for the Indians were junior Garrin Place (175) and senior Remi Sites (285).

As a team the Indians finished in second place overall to Keyser while Moorefield was third.
