The Berkeley Springs Indians wrestling team showcased their strength and determination this past weekend, finishing in second place at the prestigious Braxton County Invitational, held on Friday, January 17, and Saturday, January 18. Known as one of the toughest Class A/AA wrestling tournaments in West Virginia, the event featured 50 teams, including powerhouse programs and competitive B teams.
The Indians put forth a stellar performance, led by senior Kollin Sullivan at 165 pounds, who went undefeated across the two-day event with an impressive 8-0 record, claiming the team’ s lone individual championship.

Several other Berkeley Springs wrestlers had strong showings and secured podium finishes:
Second Place Finishers: Senior Daniel Clark (126, 7-1), Junior Jacob Morgan (132, 7-1), Junior Trent Fox (144, 7-1) and Senior Remi Sites (285, 7-1).

Third Place: Freshman Kowen Proctor (138, 6-2).
Fourth Place: Senior Krystian Norris (190, 6-2).
Fifth Place: Junior Eligah Parsell (113, 6-1) and Senior Aiden Cain (157, 6-2).
Sixth Place: Freshman Vaughn Taylor (120, 5-3) and Freshman Kaiden Proctor (150, 5-3).
Eighth Place: Junior Garrin Place (175, 4-4).
The Indians accumulated 331.5 points to secure second place overall, finishing behind reigning Class A/AA state champions Point Pleasant, who dominated the field with 404.5 points.
The top five team scores were as follows: Point Pleasant – 404.5, Berkeley Springs – 331.5, Keyser – 324.0, Herbert Hoover – 287.5 and Braxton County – 276.5.

The Indians will next compete at the 2025 Potomac Valley Conference (PVC) Championships, scheduled for Saturday, January 25, at Frankfort High School. Berkeley Springs enters the tournament as the five-time defending PVC champions, aiming to extend their streak to six consecutive titles.
Teams set to participate include Berkeley Springs, East Hardy, Frankfort, Keyser, Moorefield, Pendleton County and Petersburg.

Adding to the excitement, a girls’ PVC wrestling tournament will also take place for the third straight year, further highlighting the growth of the sport in the region.
