The Town of Bath hosted its first European-style Christmas market over the weekend, bringing festive holiday cheer, outdoor activities, and new Christmas shopping experiences to locals and visitors.
Children of all ages enjoyed ice skating on a simulated ice rink set up in the courthouse parking lot.
Rows of enclosed heated tents were set up along the perimeter, featuring local and regional artisans, food vendors, crafters, and community groups like 4-H and Girl Scouts selling their wares.
A snow machine delighted children and adults. Outdoor heaters were placed in seating areas, creating a space to stop and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.
Musical entertainment was provided by the Berkeley Springs High School marching band, Laz Rapidaz, Jingle Belles, and carolers from Wellspring Church.
Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived in their sleigh, taking waiting children for a sleighride with Santa.
A ticketed event was held on Friday evening, offering a sneak peak of the Bath Christmas market, and a breakfast with Buddy the Elf was held at Charlotte’s Café on Saturday morning.
The Bath Christmas market was closed on Sunday, due to a winter storm that made its way through the area on Saturday night.
