Freda Kay Miller
1937-2024
Freda Kay Miller, 87, of Paw Paw, passed away at Berkeley Springs Healthcare Center on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born January 17, 1937, in Paw Paw, W.Va. to the late Lloyd P. and Odessa Santymire Hardy.
She married her high school sweetheart, William K. Miller, on May 17, 1953.
He preceded her in death on January 20, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lou Hook and Ruby Mehrmann.
Freda retired as a cook at Paw Paw Schools. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake. She was active in the Paw Paw Senior Center, sang with the Silver Bells and in the Paw Paw United Methodist Church choir for many years. She attended the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Paw Paw.
Freda is survived by her children: William Miller, Jr. (Kathy) of Harrisonburg, Va., Pamela Kidwell (Jerry) of Paw Paw, Michael Miller (Teresa) of Paw Paw and Krista Lucas (Bill) of Winchester, Va.; grandchildren: Mary Miller, Jeffrey Miller, Vince Kidwell, Andrea Ritchie, Joshua Miller, Jeremiah Miller, and Christopher Miller; Great-grandchildren: Baylee Miller, Maisy Miller, William Miller, James Kidwell, Andrew Kidwell, Matthew Kidwell, Mia Kidwell, Thomas Ritchie, Gideon Miller, Jason Miller, Jeremiah Miller, Jackson Miller, Clayton Miller, James Miller, and Garrett Miller; great-great-grandsons: Arlow Kidwell, Cory Kidwell, and Ayden Miller; Four step-great-grandchildren and special caregivers: Angie Newlon and Nora Dusing.
The family received friends, and a memorial service was held on Sunday, December 8 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church with Pastor Earl Travis officiating. Private graveside services were held at Camp Hill Cemetery.
