The Bath Civic Trust, a new local nonprofit incorporated earlier this year, announced the first round of grantees selected at their December 1 board meeting.
Trust board chair, Mary Lynn Hickey, reported that the following organizations will each receive $500: Berkeley Springs Fire Department, Morgan County Public Library, Morgan County Backpacks program, Berkeley Springs State Park Foundation, Morgan County Arts Council, Black Cat Music Cooperative and the Foxglove Garden Club.
Receiving $750 awards for their respective playground upgrade projects are Widmyer Elementary School and Warm Springs Intermediate School.
The Bath Civic Trust supports programs and initiatives that generate positive economic impact and improve the quality of life for residents in the Town of Bath.
The Trust is a funding sponsor of the upcoming Bath Christmas Market event being held the weekend of December 13-15 and the portable ice rink that will be sited adjacent to the Christmas Market during that event before being relocated to the Biser Street park.
