Nelson Lee Divilbiss
1944-2024
Nelson Lee Divilbiss, age 80, of Manassas, Va. and formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 30, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of the late George Lawrence and Lillie Elizabeth Bailey Divilbiss.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from February 13, 1963 until his honorable discharge in January 30, 1965.
Nelson loved the Smurfs and was known to be a Papa Smurf.
Nelson is survived by three sisters, Shelvie Burks (Glen), Joyce Parlett (Joe) and Esther Hiles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Green Divilbiss, one sister, Darlene Ingram and one brother, Donald Divilbiss.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Private graveside services with military honors will be in Woodrow Union Cemetery in Paw Paw, W.Va.
