1934-2024

Emil Whorley Adkins age 90 of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday November 12, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born January 29, 1934 in Elliott, W.Va., he was the son of the late Whorley and Clara Dorsey Adkins.

He was a Christian and a member of Shepherd’s Chapel.

Emil served in the United States Army.

Emil worked as an auto mechanic until his retirement.

He was a member of Deford Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M.

Emil was a musician and loved music.

Emil is survived by his wife of 70 years Alice Roburta Hall Adkins, at home, five children, Emil “Butch” Adkins and his wife, Billie of Harrington, Del., Kim Krug and her husband Billy of Huntingtown, Md., Joe Adkins of Destin, Fla., Rhonda Ermer of Prince Frederick, Md. and Renee Murphy and her husband, Larry “Bunny” Murphy of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., seven grandchildren Billy, Emily and her wife Jenni, Justin and his wife Monica, Cory and his partner, Sara, Dustin, Casey and Robert and his wife, Lori, seven great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jacob, Madalyn, Savannah, Serenity, Kahler and Silas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Houston Adkins, son-in-law, Kenny Ermer and one grandson Andrew Adkins.

Services and burial will be private.
