On November 10, the Berkeley Springs High School Fishing Club held their annual Veterans Appreciation Tournament. The club had 10 veterans that showed up to fish with the team and many of them got to fish with a student competitor. All of the nine boats that competed in the tournament were able to catch a keeper fish. Starting off with 3rd place, Willie Nutter and Steven Iden (both active duty) had 5 lbs. 7 oz. from three fish with Captain Norman Smith.
Daniel Clark and Wayne took 2nd with 6 lbs. 9 oz. with five fish with Captain Brian Seavolt.
The bag of the day was Trevor Albanese and Dave Rose, who took 1st with 6 lbs. 13 oz. with Captain Mutch Yost.
The Berkeley Springs High School Fishing Club recognizes all the parents who helped out with lunch and the local Food Lion that assisted with food. The American Legion Post 60 helped coordinate having veterans join the student members. Jay Hoffman with Hoffman Tackle also donated a pile of tackle to the kids and veterans.
