Girl Scouts name Hill among 2024 Women of Distinction

Berkeley Springs resident Cindy Largent-Hill was honored last Wednesday by the Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital as one of the group’s 2024 Women of Distinction. She joins a group of over 50 women who have been received the honor since the program began 20 years ago.

For 20 years, Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital has recognized and celebrated outstanding women in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and has worked to foster awareness of the community initiatives with the Women of Distinction events.

Each honoree receives a pin featuring a diamond, symbolizing their strength, and a pearl, representing the string of pearls Juliette Gordon Low—founder of Girl Scouts— sold to support the Girl Scouting movement. Like Low, these women have shown a profound and enduring dedication to philanthropy and community service.

Honorees were recognized and celebrated during the 20th annual awards ceremony on Wednesday, October 9 in Martinsburg.
